Rachel Marks
Rachel currently has her monumental installation SYMFOLIA on view at the Cité de la Musique for the Olympic Cultural Program for Paris 2024. Rachel is also a tenure professor at Parsons Paris. She has a Bachelor of Fine Art (2010) in Drawing and Painting from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Fine Art (2013) from l’Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design of Grenoble, France. Rachel’s work investigates the relationship between nature and humanity. Her practice explores how trees thrive together within the forest community primarily through site specific large scale installation and performance, as well as sculpture, painting and drawing. Her materials consist mostly of abandoned books and paper, metamorphosing back to their natural source. Her goal as an artist is to bring public awareness to nature’s complexity and beauty to promote preservation.
Her works and performances are regularly shown in France as well as internationally. Rachel’s studio is currently at the Philharmonie de Paris, she also has a studio located in the artist residency Montmartre aux Artistes in Paris.
